Hi there, new homeowner and first time attempt at any plumbing. I can't seem to figure out from researching what kind of pipes/hoses these are (the red and blue ones). Could someone let me know what they're called so I can begin a more extensive search on how to repair them?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Spin,
Those are PEX pipes, the red would be the hot and blue for cold, although the color is really meaningless as to the function.
Here a couple links for you on the subject:
Advantages of PEX tubing
Properties of PEX tubing
Joining methods for PEX tubing
Water distribution systems using PEX tubing

Is there any way someone can message me so we can discuss the "anatomy" of plumbing? Many of these terms are really confusing to me and I could use a hand to hold. It just seems so complicated. I feel as though hiring a plumber is rendering me powerless when it comes to something I may be capable of fixing.
