Hi, We have a house with no basement and only plumbing on main level. We have one bathroom with sink and tub/shower. When either the tub or sink drains, the other one makes a gurgling sound.
In the kitchen there is a double sink, in the room beside the kitchen we have a stacking washer/dryer. When washer drains it sounds like the drain spout is filling up and about to overflow and the kitchen sink gurgles.
The drain in the laundry room is Y shaped with the washer drain and plug cap on the other.
About 2 weeks ago the washer drain leaked and cap was taken off and drain was snaked using a plumbers 35 foot snake. The snake ran the length of the house and solved the leaking problem.
We now seem to hear the same sound with the washer drain and we still hear the gurgling sounds in all the drains. Thankfully we have yet to see another leak, but are unsure of what is going on. We have just purchased our house and have never lived in a house with no basement and we don't no anyone that has, so therefore we don't know if what we are dealing with is normal.
If anyone can help us it would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

I would suggest getting your vent snaked from the roof, it sounds like a venting problem.

We were just told that when your sink is full of water and you let it drain, if is swirls while draining its not the vent but if is doesn't swirl its the its the vent.

I just tried it and it swirls when draining.

well a better test then swirling water is to see if your roof cap is cut off (new or recently new house) or have you talked to the previous owners. did you have a house inspection done because the inspecter should have noticed a problem or at least thought something was odd
